Why AI is just a tool, not other intelligence!
Over the past 12 months, technological news has been dominated by updates from the world of artificial intelligence (AI). The discussion about its development and applications has moved from academic halls and corporate conference rooms to every possible corner of the globe. While observing the evolution of events, I began to get the impression, that the mainstream is trying to position AI as a human intelligence replacement, rather than a tool. But let’s start from the beginning.
Prehistory of intelligence
For over two million years, humanity has been using tools. Initially, these were simple, rocky objects, used mainly for hunting and survival equipment. Today, we are far from using rough stones and sticks, unless we do it as part of a television program with Bear Grylls. Instead, we try to harness everything we can to make our lives easier, faster, and lead to more advanced results.
One of the things that humanity has been passionately trying to use in everyday life for over 12 months is artificial intelligence. A novelty that, threatens the current world order and hundreds of thousands of jobs. Just like computers once did.
