Let’s talk about toxic men’s newspapers…

When we think about “aspiration”, most of the time we imagine internal force, that makes the world go around. This immaculate power is pushing us for making plans, following the path we think is best for us and drives us to fulfil desires or needs.

Bud did you know, that aspiration has its medical definition as well? It defines an “entry of secretions or foreign material into the trachea and lungs” — something that doesn’t have much in common with mentality, but it’s all about suffocation and choking.

I’ve read dozens of articles about fat, boobs or butt shaming… all sorts of shaming in women’s magazines. But what about male role models presented in press? Today I wanted to talk about man chocking with water, while swimming in the ocean of their aspirations, artificially created by men’s magazines.

When was the last time you read one of top men’s global newspaper in the world: Gentlemen’s Quarterly, commonly known as GQ? Fit-buddy or sleek-groomed-gentleman — those are two archetypes that are pouring out of the pages, filled with nicely looking, yet thirsty pictures. None of those models fit…
